Dubai, UAE, 26 May 2024: The Mohammed Bin Rashid Arabic Language Award, a part of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives and organised by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, today announced that the sorting committee will begin evaluating applications for the eighth edition of the award from May 27 until June 7. This preliminary stage involves a meticulous and professional review of all submitted applications to ensure the selection of the best entries that offer the most outstanding contributions to the advancement and service of the Arabic language.

The eighth edition of the awards has witnessed a notable increase in participation from across the Arab world, reflecting the growing importance of the award and its pivotal role in fostering initiatives aimed at preserving the Arabic language and promoting its use across diverse fields.

The award plays a crucial role in advancing the Arabic language and promoting initiatives that contribute to its development in learning, teaching, planning, thought, and usage. The Mohammed Bin Rashid Arabic Language Award has allocated nearly AED 2.8 million (USD 770,000) to be awarded across various categories, reinforcing its commitment to advancing the Arabic language through the pillars of education, technology, media and communication, linguistic policy, planning and Arabisation, and culture, intellect and knowledge society. This underscores the award’s continuous commitment to enhancing the global status of the Arabic language.
